Evening at Sea can be almost mystical. That experience is not lost on Wyland. In Reach for the Stars, the world-renowned artist freezes time, just as a great whale begins its descent into the dark waters below. “The stars at sea on some nights seem to fill the entire sky with radiant light,” Wyland says. “Evening at Sea was my way of creating a contrast between the mysterious, dark waters and the heavenly light above.”
