Wyland Galleries introduces limited edition prints on metal for collectors of Wyland paintings and fine art photography. This state-of-the-art process uses heat to transfer dye directly onto 1/16" thick-brushed aluminum for a crisp, high-gloss image that meets today's highest archival standards. Each water-resistant print is lightweight, will not bend, and comes floated in a metal frame for a sleek, contemporary look that's sure to catch everyone's attention. An ultra hard scratch resistant surface ensures that your Wyland metal print enjoys the same longevity and color fidelity over times as your paper and canvas prints.

In February 2010, Wyland and a team of artists, photographers, and scientists traveled to the Antarctic aboard the vessel, Elysium Epic, for an in-depth scientific / photographic survey of Antarctica and the impact of global warming on Earth’s last remote place. Convened by the Ocean Geographic Society, the team of celebrated image-makers, historians, and scientists compiled a visual library of the impact of climate change on the region – from the landmass itself to the animals that inhabit it. In this image, Wyland captures the wonder and whimsy of Emperor penguins against the stark mountainous backdrop of South Georgia Island. “Antarctica is in many ways the last terrestrial frontier,” Wyland says. “Getting there is an adventure in itself. On the way home we encountered fifty-foot waves that would bring plenty of sailors to their knees. You could say that every photo, including the shot of these Emperors, was earned the hard way.
